Council on Aging Silicon Valley’s (COA) Senior Employment Services administers the Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) which helps unemployed low-income persons who are 55 years of age and older and have limited employment prospects with emphasis placed on those individuals who are in greatest social and economic need.

COA assists participants in developing contemporary skills and experience by assigning them in a temporary part-time community service position to receive on-the-job training (OJT) and/or classroom training which facilitate their transition to unsubsidized employment opportunities.

It is hoped that this experience will lead to gainful, full time employment in the private sector.
